The Speed of Life

Maybe it’s because the 30th of anniversary of The Breakfast Club is this month. Or maybe it’s because I have been watching Hindsight on VH1 and am engrossed in all things 90s only to jump back into the real world where I am in fact 37 and not a teenager. Life just seems to race by.

I also recently got the notice via Facebook that my 20 year high school reunion is in the works. If that isn’t a slap in the face that time has passed, I don’t know what is. And it just got me thinking about how to find a better pace, how to make time last a bit longer; especially as a mom. These kiddos of mine are growing at warp speed – I am sure you feel the same way about yours.

So I thought maybe just taking a quick look back through pictures might help me catch my breath and slow things down a bit. Care to join me?

Thanks for taking a walk down memory lane with me.

37 years feels like 20 and most days the last 20 years feel like they happened in 10. As time zooms by the only thing that can slow it is to be present as much as possible. Notice the little things and be grateful. But mostly enjoy the ride as much as you can.

To the next 37 years,

  2. Hi Michelle,
Loved your picture walk! I especially liked that you labeled and dated – makes pics so much more meaningful to those who are taking a peek.
