Each year schools all over the U.S. celebrate their 100th day. By the 100th day of school this year my little girl could read a chapter book on her own, tell time, measure, write neatly and spell all kinds of new words. My son who is a fourth grader was writing reports on his own, reading books all the Percy Jackson books and even starting The Hobbit. He could convert fractions to decimals and knew a great deal about California’s history.

My three-year olds, three months ago could not put on their own clothes and shoes and were not potty trained. However today they can dress themselves and use the restroom. I got rid of all the left over pull ups today. I did a happy dance.

However all this 100 day accomplishment got me thinking – what could I do in 100 days. Two years ago I was celebrating the loss of 22 lbs. Now I am mourning the return of 20 lbs.

We all fall down. But this time I want to lose the weight and keep it off. So for the next 100 days I am committing to working out and tracking all my calories to see what kind of difference that makes. I know I can lose the weight this time and keep it off. No more stress eating – I can do this. I know I can.

So here it goes – my before picture…

Day 1 of 100

I will keep you posted with the workouts that I like and how things are going. I will include pictures and try to keep my true to my modest self. A tank top and capris is as close to a bikini as I will ever get.

Here’s to the next 100 days,

M

  1. You can do hard things! You will be in a swim suit this summer …. And comfortable with that decision! You go girl…..

  2. Hah! I read this, not knowing what it was going to be about today, with a Snickers bar in hand. Good thing it was a “Fun Size” candy bar, .and not because it was smaller, but because the name “Fun Size” just makes you feel good. Needless to say, it was like getting caught with my hand in the cookie jar.
I’ll be surrounding you with good energy as you step into this new adventure of healing and wholeness.

    1. Carol you just made me laugh out loud. Snickers are so good! I already ran 3 miles today so day 2 the outlook is good. Thanks for the well wishes!

  3. I know you can do it. Take it from someone who has worked out with a friend most mornings for 20 years, it helps to have a partner…I have faith in you!
